a measurable (10 X 20) success

We hadn't planned on it, but the offer was too good to refuse.

Even though we have two months remaining in our pilot, word of Green Table's early success reached the local office of the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservice Association (CFRA), organizers of the annual BC Food Service Expo trade show at BC Place, held this year March 4th/5th.

The CRFA generously offered us a double-wide booth on the show floor, which we happily shared with some of the pilot supplier-partners who've been equally supportive of Green Table, including Smithrite,  EECOL, Sustainable Solutions, Biodegradable Solutions, PowerSmart, Black Gold Composting and biovia. 

There were many puzzled expressions at the sight of our "sustainable foodservice" banner, but also many expressions of interest and support. This was particularly true of foodservice operators in schools, colleges and other institutions.  We also had lots of walk-up interest from restaurants and resorts around BC and beyond, as well as a few requests for some 'green-from-the-ground-up' consulting on new establishments in Vancouver.

All in all, a very strong 'coming-out' and introduction to the marketplace.  Our special thanks to Samantha Scholefield and her team at the CRFA for the warm welcome.
